Shri Gajanan Maharaj
Maharashtra is the birthplace and karma land of saints and the greatest saint in Vidarbha is Shri Gajanan Maharaj. Shri Gajanan Maharaj appeared at Shegaon on 23rd February 1878, Magh Vadya Saptami and took Samadhi on 8th September 1910, Rishi Panchami.

For more than a century, the well-educated devotees from Pune, the wealthy congregation had the idea of the power of Avaliya Saint Shri Gajanan Maharaj (Shegaon). For a long time, the Maharajah was honorably housed in the spacious mansion of Shrimant Buti, a resident of Nagpur, at Sitabardi. Kuber’s son Buti’s relatives, who were very rich, were in Pune. The name of Maharaj was easily spread in Pune city. The journey from Pune to Shegaon was difficult at that time. Therefore, it was difficult for ordinary people in the Pune area to visit Maharaj. For many years after Maharaj’s Samadhi period, it was difficult for devotees in Western Maharashtra to perform Darshan.
Religious programs
- Morning and evening community aarti, lunch and dinner at the idol etc. are regular activities. For this, priests have been kept on honorarium. Many devotees are constantly doing swayamsevak work.
- There are plenty of events seven days before the Maharajah’s revelation. Harinam Saptah, Dnyaneshwari Pathan, Jagar, Samudayik Granth Parayan, Bhajan, Kirtan etc. are all programs.
- Mahaprasad is given to thousands of devotees on the day of revelation and the next day after the Kalya program Mahaprasad is also distributed on religious days like Rishi Panchami etc.
- Every Thursday there is Maha Aarti and then Mahaprasad.
- Every Ekadashi has an evening discourse.
- Homahavan, Kakad Aarti, Krishna Janma, Ram Janma, Maruti Janma etc. are also scheduled.
Social work and social service activities
- Every year at the beginning of school, hundreds of needy students are given their school dress, shoes, best bags for books, notebooks, etc. by organizing a special event. Poor students from Sangvi-based Jun School Nrusinha High School are selected.
- Blood donation camps are held from time to time. During the Corona period, these camps reached their peak.
- Programs are held to promote the music art of some artists.
Socially useful programs like Yogasana Shibir, Student Awareness Camp, Dietary Health Seminar etc. are being held continuously. - While many of the above social work is being done, some services are being done by the trust during this Corona-19 period.
Ambulance Dedication Ceremony
The ambulance was inaugurated on the occasion of Gurupournima to bring relief to the general public in the Corona global epidemic. With her help, it will be easier to bring patients to the hospital at a very low rate. Making money is not the purpose of the trust but it is being implemented as a social commitment.
